The World Association of Persons with Disabilities has been together for over fifteen years and is dedicated to improving and empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential. They work at all local, national and state levels to achieve this.
The Association has developed numerous Chapters which allow the public to get involved, make a difference, and meet new people. There are Chapters in thirty-nine different states and countries. Through these Chapters, the Association is able to provide programs and services for disables, as well as, discuss issues and gain information. Members of the WAPD are responsible for putting together service projects that will get the community involved to make it a better area to live. By working close to the disabled community on all state, local, and national levels, they are able to gain the latest information on issues that need to be addressed to policy makers. This is how they are able to make a difference for the disabled and those who are living in wheel chairs. Chapters are a great way to meet new people and gain support from those who understand what you are going through. It allows an individual to discuss their concerns and issues with others, and be able to gain more information. The WAPD is also very passionate about creating financial prosperity among the disabled. They believe in helping them become self-sufficient which will increase their self-esteem and create a foundation for them to achieve a life that is fulfilling.
World Association of Persons with Disabilities was established as a non-profit, nonpartisan organization under God. By donations, corporations, and members, WAPD is able to support the disabled community.
